OAI-PMH and citation metadata

Article metadata is exposed through an OAI-PMH endpoint, the format indexing services and preservation archives harvest. Every article page carries complete Highwire citation tags for Google Scholar.

Indexing of individual articles

Indexing services work in two ways.

Some list the journal itself. Directories, catalogues and journal-evaluation services record the journal’s title, ISSN and details. They do not list individual articles, so an article will not appear in them by name.

Others list articles. Each of these services decides independently whether and when to include an individual article, on its own schedule, and the journal has no role in that decision.

For every article, the journal provides what these services rely on: a Crossref DOI, complete citation metadata on the article page, an OAI-PMH record, and deposit with its indexing partners.

Google Scholar finds articles by crawling the web. A new article usually appears within a few weeks to a few months, though Google Scholar does not guarantee inclusion. To check, search for the article’s full title in quotation marks at scholar.google.com.

Manupatra and other databases add issues in batches on their own release schedules. These can be long and vary from service to service.

To cite or share your article, use its DOI link (https://doi.org/10.63108/…). It works from the day of publication and always leads to the article. Authors with a Google Scholar profile can also add their article using “Add article manually”.
